Vanessa Clara Engelmann (*1991) is an interdisciplinary artist, writer and translator. In her artistic practice, she works with photo, film, material experiments, installation and walks, always investigating the relation between her own body and its surroundings, the manifold histories they bear. Her works are exploriations of relational forms of being with and nearby others: human, animal, plant, nature, culture –– in rual or urban landscapes. She is a member of rocheuse collective, an associate of the kontaminiert werden kollektiv, and experiments with self-publishing at the colorama riso print workshop.
She participated in exhibitions at Kunstverein Tiergarten, Berlin 2019; the hidden art project, Oldenburg 2020; blade festival (as rocheuse collective) 2024; Kunstraum Potsdamer Straße, Berlin 2025. Her work was published in eject – Zeitschrift für Medienkultur, Grove Journal, [anthro]metronom blog, FLUT – Zeitschrift für gegenwärtige Erotik, turtle magazine (both as rocheuse collective), and Zeitschrift für Medienwissenschaft.
